The Sound Science of Seachem

From Products to Employment People graduating from college these days are finding it more challenging than ever to find a place to work, much less find a role that fits their major.  They also find it difficult to find a role in a company that is exciting, where each day is different from the next. Graduating from Emory University with degrees in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology, I was looking for just that.  As it turns out a company in the small [...]

Store Spotlight: The Ark Pet Shop

Meet The Ark Pet Shop, Gold Select Dealer of the Quarter! One of many beautiful displays! The Ark Pet Shop was founded in July of 1979 by Tom Nelson. Tom already had some experience working in fish stores, so was fully prepared to start his own fish store when the opportunity presented itself. The hobby is much different now from when the shop got its start though! They have had to adapt to changing technology, livestock, product sourcing, and suppliers, but have [...]

Store Spotlight: AniMart

Meet AniMart, the Silver Select Dealer of the Quarter! Meet AniMart, the Silver Select Dealer of the Quarter! AniMart was started in July of 1988 by Diego Chacon, formerly a corporate banker. Diego’s love of animals led him to start the shop as a small dog-and-cat-supplies store with a few reptiles and fish. Today, the store is many times larger and sells a huge selection of reptiles, saltwater and freshwater fish, and even breeds and hand raises birds! One of AniMart's lovely [...]

Store Spotlight: Pacific Aquarium

Meet Pacific Aquarium & Plant NYC, Seachem’s Bronze Select Dealer of the Quarter! Chi Cho, the owner of Pacific Aquarium, says it best: “New York City’s source for exotic tropical fish and their state-of-the-art, man-made environments, hasn’t always commanded its indisputable following among consumers in one of the world’s foremost cities. Established in 1980, the small, unproven general pet store entered a crowded marketplace on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, armed with little more than an expert staff and a commitment to [...]

Pet City

We had a very hard time choosing where we should hold the final flash sale in the 2014 walkabout. But we unanimously decided it should be with a long-term partner who had been with Seachem from the beginning in the Australian market and with that we chose Pet City. Kim Continati the owner has always been a huge supporter and friend to Seachem. We have been truly honored to be partners with Kim and her exceptional staff especially her Aquatics [...]

Smiths Aquarium

Once arriving in Brisbane we are amazed by the effort put forth by the owners at Smiths Aquarium, the turn out was unbelievable to say the least. They have created a full-blown day of fun for their customers in honor of the flash sale and inshore visit of the Seachem H2Go. Complete with a blow up castle for the little ones and a cookout for all ages. I was amazed by the number of customers that turned out for [...]

From Mackay to Brisbane

The last leg of the Walkabout Tour began as we left Mackay heading south to Bundaberg to rest for the night before moving on to Brisbane where we will have two flash sales and close the Walkabout out with a long time partner of Seachem PetCity. The long leg from Mackay to Bundaberg was riddled with rough roads and it's share of road hazards to say the least. Once in Bundaberg we found rest and nourishment at a local favorite [...]

The Long Journey to Mackay

As the team left Townsville early this morning and pushed southward to Mackay we found it to be a longer drive than anticipated. Being trapped on long stretches of desolate highway behind trailers added a couple of hours to the so called four our tour. No worries mate! A quick stop at Le Sorrel, a roadside cafe for lunch proved just the thing. They ended up being an outback treasure, boasting handmade daily all things delicious. Jim and Matthew [...]
